A good friend of mine had been seeing a guy for a month when he suddenly ditched her with no explanation. They went out to date several times already, and it was quite intense. They even spent a night together on a week end gate away, whether or not sex is involved. When I discussed about this to my guy-friend, he said “probably he thoughts that things went too slow with her”.
I was shocked by his answer. How far should a relationship grow in 1 month time according to guys? Was it me who is too old fashioned or a month with ‘spending a night together’ seems quite rapid for my standard. And when he said ‘slow’ did he refer to the growth of physical intimacy? Emotional relations? Or status commitment? Which aspect of relationship do guys expect to go in faster phase? And as the title says, how slow is slow when it comes to relationship?
Despite all the unanswered time relativity queries, my friend, a guy who gave you up after a month just because he thinks that things go too slow, if that’s really the case, whatever that means, doesn’t deserve you.
